This PlugIn tries to identify the type of a Media Disc inserted into your CD-ROM/DVD drive. If the type of media is known and an appropriate PlugIn is loaded, it starts it. If you have a VDR directory structure on that disc, it launches VDR's own Recording Menu. This also works if you have the MPEG- files stored directly in the root of the disc, starting with 001.vdr.
This makes (at least) the two entries VCD and DVD obsolete, and that's why you can disable them in the latest versions ;)
Beginning with Version 0.0.7, this PlugIn provides some additional features, such as Instant-Replay of Video- and Audio-CDs
I've taken the development/maintenance of the vdrcd-PlugIn from Bernd Schweikert on 02/04/2003.
